I started bringing my son Braden who was eight in 2008 to Gettysburg. We live in Indiana and have been to Gettysburg 14 times . We always stay a week and look forward to the trip. We have covered just about every inch of the battlefield and he is planning on attending Gettysburg College next fall and majoring in History and minoring in Civil War Era Studies. Gettysburg definitely has had a positive impact on both of our lives!

I love Gettysburg-one of my favorite places, whether in July or November- I even was lucky enough to walk the Battlefield with Armisted’s Brigade and the Park Rangers in 2013, on the 150th Anniversary of Pickett’s Charge, and return that November for the 150th Anniversary of the Address-been back twice since then- my children tease me about “stopping over” as I drive back and forth from Illinois or Florida- maybe someday I could become a volunteer!
